Progress vs Perfection

Progress Vs Perfection is an age-long dichotomy that I have always found fascinating and I truly believe that we must be careful not to focus so much on Perfection, that we forget to celebrate our Progress along the way. When we fail to see the slight movement towards our goals, we become disillusioned and frustrated at our seeming lack of progress and this sometimes makes us throw in the towel too early in the process. It also induces a feeling of helplessness and we become too overwhelmed to continue on the journey. In order to overcome or prevent this, we must learn to celebrate our progress along the way, no matter how small it may be.

Realise that little drops of water, a mighty ocean makes. Celebrating progress gives you a “feel good” feeling and is a “confidence booster”, that is invaluable to your well-being. This, in turn, motivates you to take the next step towards your goals. It also makes the entire process less overwhelming. Always remember that goals must be broken into smaller, less threatening.
